David brings 17 years of American Lawyer A List law firm and Silicon Valley electric vehicle manufacturing and financial services in-house counsel experience to add value in providing small firm attention and nimble and relationship-focused legal services with deals, contracts, negotiations and external general counsel.  

David was previously the GC and VP of a national financial services company, and prior to that was Assistant GC at Proterra, an electric vehicle manufacturer based in Silicon Valley.  Before practicing in-house, David was an equity partner at Wyche, a regional law firm based in Greenville SC, and started his career in Chicago at Paul Hastings and Jenner & Block, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and public company work.  David represented clients such as General Motors, including with its 2009 bankruptcy asset sale, General Dynamics, Hertz, Wolters Kluwers and various private equity firms.  

David earned his BA at Bradley University, where he graduated summa cum laude and played on the golf team, and his JD at Wake Forest University School of Law, where he was an Editorial Staff Member of the Wake Forest Law Review.  

David is licensed in Illinois and South Carolina, was named 2021 and 2022 Legal Elite in Corporate Law and also Mergers & Acquisitions,  and holds a Six Sigma yellow belt.  He graduated from Leadership Greenville Class 40, was named one of Greenville’s Best & Brightest 35 & Under, has served on various nonprofit boards and has been a member of the Association for Corporate Counsel. David qualified for, competed in and finished the 2023 Xterra Off-Road Triathlon World Championships in Molveno, Italy.
